What a challenge!

I found this a particularly challenging project. It was either me or the software making it so, because Neil’s instructions were very concise and easy to understand (including how to take a 3D image using his cha-cha method).

I took quite a few photos before I was happy with one that had 3D potential and used AnaBuilder for Mac to produce the 3D effect. The software wasn’t very user-friendly. Yes, it is free-ware and so I shouldn’t really complain, but I found it hard to use all the same. The preview option didn’t work so I had to rely on my very unsteady crossed-eyed technique to get the final result. Here’s hoping it’s vaguely 3D!

Challenging but a good learning experience.

Make sure you check out the submissions Neil has had so far, there are some excellent 3D examples in the mix.

The results from “the Fork Project” are in!

In March I entered the Iron Chef Photography project, the challenge being to photograph a fork in a creative and interesting way.

This was my entry:

The Dark Side of the Fork

There were 28 entries altogether and I am pleased (and excited) to say that I tied fourth in the Judges’ Choice with two other entries and fifth in the Public Choice.

Check out all the entries over at Neil Creek’s website - there are some stunning images to view.

Did you enter the Iron Chef Photography project? How did you fare?

This is my entry in the Iron Chef Photography - Fork project

Neil creek is running a series of projects:

The purpose of the Iron Chef Photography projects is to make you think about different ways of artistically interpreting the subject.

These projects are a good way to stretch your imagination and test your photography skills. If you haven’t entered Neil’s project yet, I urge you to get creative with your camera. There’s still time.

Get forked by 24 March 2008!

Now, I’m not a Star Wars fan but when I saw the result of this photo, all I could think of was the inner darkness (voice) taking over and The Dark Side of the Fork was created.
